~* Art deco antique earrings *~
Have I mentioned that my friend Pipsa is a Sweetheart? She is.
She dropped by at our place for a glass of champagne before we headed for the movie premiere on Wednesday... And before she even made her way inside she had pushed a little box into my hand. Explaining that it was nothing... Just a little something old...
It turned out that her nothing were these divine silver and marcasite antique earrings.
Huh, I was so touched that all words escaped me. So thoughtful, so poignant, so unexpected was her gesture... How she already knows how much I love all things adorned with charm and history.
From now on, every time that I wear these beauties I shall be escorted and surrounded by the warmth and kindness of a true friend.
And that feeling is as priceless as these earrings are beautiful.

~* at the premiere of 21 ways to ruin a mariage *~
On Wednesday, I was invited to the movie premiere of "21 ways to ruin a marriage". What a great evening we had... Movie was feelgood funny, new and old friends were all around - an evening of laughter and friendship it was.
The dress code for the event was, of course, a wedding dress.
The fairest of all the brides amongst the cast & crew was our lovely Duchess Hannele with her vintage inspired lace wedding dress, soft white Dior boots and a three-string pearl necklace.
Chic, sophisticated, feminine. Accessorized with the warmest smile.

The rest of us dressed up - or down - in a very unwedingly fashion. The queen of the fashionistas in attendance was, once and again, Heli Kajo. She had a quirky turquoise bag to go with her fuscia top and gold jewellery. Cool bold colors that I could never pull off... And Heli always does.
Black pailleted dress, Givenchy suede over the knee boots, vintage silver and marcasite earrings (a gift from Pipsa!), and a Chanel bag was as weddingly as I got.
One of the truly lovely people I got to meet that evening was Laura Reunanen, who had just published her first album the day before! She was so kind and even gave me a copy of her cd - Café de Abejas: Mascot Moth - and I must say... I haven't stopped listening to it since.
And could you imagine, this lady has actually composed "Les Fleurs du mal" by Baudelaire into chanson. My imagination wouldn't ever have reached those highs... But in fact, my husband gave me that very book by Baudelaire for Xmas... Now I have just the music to listen to, when I dive into his poetry. Incredible.

Then there was the afterparty...
With complimentary wedding cakes, perfectly styled for each of the impossible marriages of the film.

The cakes were too yummy... This is what the table looked like when we were through with them.. The beautiful Jemina had real problems at the afterparty... There was such an interest for her phone number that our table was surrounded by quite a buzz throughout the evening... Not to mention the bombardment of text messages, after her number was discovered... [caption id="attachment_12065" align="aligncenter" width="382"] Jemina's shimmery Celine purse from Luxbag[/caption] Hannele and Torsti. Such an aura of love there is, around and between these two... Just being around them makes one feel warm. * Pipsa my lovely! The one, the only, the indomitable. The heart and soul of every party. AND a shoulder to cry on when the world roughs a little person up and down and all around. [caption id="attachment_12059" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Eeva Hautamäki & Hannele Herttua.[/caption] I get you, Johanna Vuoksenmaa. After this movie, I too wanted to kiss Armi Toivanen. Or Riku Nieminen, if I'm quite honest... Never ever again will I associate that man with Munamies :) . Sorry dear readers outside Finland, there are things that just don't translate... I'll finish with this scene - one of the funniest in the movie. Sorry, no translation.... Vaikken mä isääs enää rakasta niin kyllä mä hänestä välitän" ~*♥*~~* Say You Love Me earrings *~
As some of you may have noticed, I have a soft spot for vintage jewellery. Well, okay, there are quite a few soft spots in my repertoire... But these lovelies really swept me off my feet.
Only three pairs of these Fine van Brooklin treasures were made and each pair found a new home in record time, even to my artist friend Lea's standards. These earrings feature STUNNING vintage 830 silver filigree adorned with marcasite (originally from a 1930's bracelet) with just a pair of beautiful freshwater pearls added, alongside some very nice, a little out of the ordinary sterling silver hooks.
No hassle, just plain gorgeous treasures from the past. Just the way I love them.

Lea (creatriss of the Fine van Brooklin jewellery) has such uncanny sense for naming her treasures, don't you think!
Getting a little surprise gift in the form of Say You Love Me earrings would sure work wonders in adding some serious Va-Va-Voooooom to woman's day... A little tip to you gentlemen out there - now that would be a way to kick off a Monday morning with your lady love ♥.

~* a Kristina Viirpalu photoshoot *~
This is my very first Kristina Viirpalu dress, an absolute favorite. Perfect for any occasion; work, cafés, movies, heart-to-heart teabreak with a friend... Hand woven of thick high-quality cotton, It's so soft and comfortable that I even wear it on airplanes. As all of Kristina's dresses, this too is a unique piece.
*
I love this bow... Detachable, it can be worn with other dresses - and turn them into statement pieces as well.
The wonderfully talented Pipsa Lagus organized this photoshoot next to Kaivohuone on one particularly windy and drizzly day... We had a car running right next to us with the heating on at full force... Salvation.
The meter maids happened to be making their rounds around the parking lot... In fact, I think they made several slow rounds, wondering how to react to what we were doing... And even a police car happened to drop by at the empty parking and made a little tour around us... But they all just gave us puzzled looks and let us go on about our business. Pipsa has that effect on people... Me, I just tend to get in trouble...
Checking the results of the day.... At the point when I started turning blue in the face, we shifted to photographing the Black Rose Wool Coat on top of this dress - not only beautiful but a highly convenient solution.
* Happy happy :). When I see this photo I still feel it in my bones how wonderfully warm it was, that moment. ~*♥*~
