~* here we go... *~

The other day, as I fetched my sons from school, I found my 5-year-old running around the hallways laughing, screaming, shouting, jumping - with the cutest little girl called Clara in active pursuit, calling "Calin! Calin! Bisou!". Hugs and kisses that is :) . My darling run around wailing for me to save him from this awful faith of being kissed by a girl... But I think he honestly could have ran a little faster... That night, as I was putting him to bed, he was deep in his thoughts. Worried, I asked him what was on his mind. "Maman", he said, "Can you tell me something... I just don't know... Whose hair is longest, yours or Clara's?". A little question that speaks such volumes. On the very same week, my oldest went to a birthday party of a school friend. It turned out to be a disco themed birthday bash. It was only yesterday that this kid simply loathed girls and all things girly... So positively stunned I was, when the boy's mother sent photos they'd taken of the party - dimmed lights, a huge disco ball, my baby boogeying away with his buddies to his heart's content. I tried to be discreet but couldn't help asking if he'd danced with a girl... No, he said. He doesn't have a girlfriend. His friend M, on the other hand, has three. As several of them had been in attendance, there had been some drama in the air. It's complicated, confided my son. He's seven. Oh dear. Here we go.
