~~~* Magic Creations *~~~
Today I was mesmerized by the creativity of a young artist, Yulia Nikolina, who actually contacted me to tell me that she had not only found LadyBohemia, but also found it artistic and beautiful! And her sweet message came just when I was feeling really low, totally uninspiring, uninteresting, rather useless as a blogger as well as a human being. So thank you dear Yulia, for spreading your angel dust my way just when I most needed it...♥. What a sweet start to my day, only to get even better as I discovered Yulia's amazing collections. I must show them to you, I promise these creations will blow your mind... The Forgotten Myth Collection, featured below, is inspired by ancient Greek goddesses, nymphs and other lovely creatures... This turquoise Water Nymph dream falls flowingly, hugging the body in just the right places like a waterfall of lace... A real Mermaid beauty, beautifully painting the feminine shape. Handmade lacecrocet detailing... My own gemstone talisman is rosequartz, so this piece, very appropriately titled Aphrodite, really tempts and teases me... But this piece is sold... To a very uniquely bohemian bride! Isn't that just purrrrfect.. And last, I present you Aurora. Her chain details on oldrosa lace and velvet fabrics are just the icing on the cake.. N'est pas? Huh! What a fiesta the lovely Yulia treated me with this morning... Feels like some Mediterranean sun decided to come over and kiss me on the cheek when I browsed through her artwork like a kid in a candy store. Should you want to see more of Yulia's magic, you can find her at Facebook under Yulia Nikolina. Kisses to all my beautiful readers, -LadyBohemia- ~*~
~* Something old, something new, nothing blue ~*
One thing in my life that i cannot be with out... is my Chanel 5 perfume which I've used, well, always. Some ladies change their perfume based on trends, fashion, novelties etd. But Chanel 5 has always been... me. Just a little drop creates a really sensual feel as it melanges with the individual scent of your skin. And if you use just the drop, it can only be felt very close which also adds a sweet allure... I never, ever travel without my Chanel - I feel naked without it. We've even made a world tour together :) [caption id="attachment_6555" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="The crystal bottle in the background in an antique piece from the family from France, the cameé is also antique, from Italy. The pearlstring is for the hair or forehead, by the lovely Oona Elena Kassila"][/caption] This cute tiny vintage bag below has followed me through thick and thin. And it shows, in both of us... Every time we go out, tiny beautiful pearls are found everywhere. In the bed, bathtub, my hair... Yet somehow, I like how after every adventure we get a little bit more shaggy together. I conclude this little defilée of my treasures by my dearest silver ancle chain, from India of course. The delicate silver & pearl necklace is from Taxco, Mexico, and the 1940's suede gloves are from a French antique market. The new is represented by the suede heels which are a perfect shade of slightly shimmery antique gold, although the picture really doesn't do them justice. I got these as a consolation price when my Yves Saint Laurent vintage shoes were stolen - would you believe it! - practically from my feet. More on that little adventure in St. Paul de Vence can be found here. ~*♥*~
A real feminine dancer's touch...
One of my best purchases ever is this dreamy hip jewellery  in rosequartz, glass beads and real freswater pearls. MmmmmmMmm... Can't wait to feel the coolness and smoothness of stones & beads on my skin... This tresor is of course handmade and created by the magical FairyPrincess Oona Elena Kassila. The chain can also be worn as a necklace... Purrrrfect. [caption id="attachment_6344" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="I don't have my piece at home yet, but this is how to wear it... Tooo lovely."][/caption] The piece was inspired by tribal bellydancers...♥. Also, it's recommended to be worn at weddings, which I find a particularly facinating idea. Nothing to give more bohemian a look to a bride than a rosebelly jewel like this... I already know that this beauty is something I'll be wearing always and everyday. ~*♥*~
~* A Hazy Shade of Winter *~
My oldest son loves photography.
He once took photos of every page of a book displaying gross insects; scorpions, worms, frogs, snakes, crabs... Sometimes even Mama - as he calls me - will do. So we photographed my beloved long long long ivory white shammy golves... Original from the 1920's (Ah!). And my shimmery double lined pearl necklace from the same era...
We took the photos in our corridor as the house wasn't all that presentable...
This is what we came up with...
[caption id="attachment_6220" align="aligncenter" width="250" caption="The gloves & pearl necklace: vintage find. Dark silk dress; find from France. Shimmery stockings Falke."][/caption]
I like it.
Not bad. Not bad at all.
What say you?
~~* My Black Beauty Vintage Necklace & Feather Earrings *~~
This black bead necklace is soooo dear to me (I know, all my pieces are just so dear...). I found it from Curiosa, a tiny vintage and antique jewellery shop that doesn't exist any more. The feathered earrings (below) are a gift from my wonderful Noora. I call them my Brazil Earrings as they give me a feeling of something faraway, beautiful and wild. [caption id="attachment_6128" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="I always use the long feather earrings only one at a time"][/caption] I lost the necklace once on a business trip to Copenhagen.  When the working day was done, I wondered aimlessly around the beautiful walking streets of the center, happily lost as usual - my sense of direction is rather legendary. I popped into a few lovely jewellery stores to try on some beautiful pieces here and there. Only to realise the next day - when back at home - that I'd left my beloved black bead necklace into one of these little boutiques. I'd taken it off whilst trying on other things. I had tried on necklaces in two shops, situated along the same street. Didn't know the name of the street, or the names of those shops. BUT. With the help of Google maps (with pictures of streets and shops) I located ONE shop I'd visited. Which happened to be on the same street as the two jewellery shops where I had probably lost my necklace. So I called the owner of that shop. Explaining what had happened, and asking her if she knew the name of a shop nearby that had tiny silver bracelets with angel figurines in it's window... Or another, that was rather ethnic by style... That was all I remembered. That shop owner was just wonderful. She really understood how dear the necklace was to me.  So she volunteered to walk up and down the street (a long one!), trying to find jewellery stores (the names of which I didn't remember) and trace down my necklace. And she found it. Sent it home to me. Refused any compensation I tried to offer. Instead, she told me to be careful with my beloved necklace in the future, saying that in fact it's quite valuable. It is indeed true, what they say about the kindness of strangers... Ps. Later, I told the owner of Curiosa - a third-generation goldsmith - about the adventures of my necklace. She recalled how she believes that some pieces of jewellery simply belong to certain people. For example, she had lost a 20. 000 euro diamond necklace twice, and twice it had been returned to her. And she had felt that this black bead piece belonged with me the moment she'd first seen it on me:). Life is - always - more amazing than fiction...♥. ~*♥*~
