~* Tango *~

One day, a friend of mine listed things she'd want to do in this life - her dreams, basically. And suddenly I realized just how fortunate I really am. I'd done or experienced more or less everything in her top ten. This is not to say that I no longer have things to dream of... OhNoNo. With this appetite for life, I'll probably stay busy for the next fifty years or so. For example, one little dream that still remains to be fulfilled is learning to dance the Tango. Argentinian, preferably.

I adore Al Pacino's comment on the clip: "There are no mistakes in tango, darling. Not like life." A friend of mine who really knows Argentinian tango describes it as an artform. The beauty of it, according to her, is that the man improvises the dance as he goes along. So the woman learns to read his next moves from his eyes and gestures, and reacts to them simultaneously. Sounds intense. Beautiful. Powerful. ...And more than a little bit tricky. Well... The best things rarely are the easiest... Right? ~*♥*~

~* Play it Again, Sam *~

Yesterday I unexpectedly heard the theme song of the movie Love Story. Huh, such shivers it sent down my spine. It was the song of the most Casablanca-esque moments of my life. Once, a very, very long time ago I fell in love with a foreign man. We lived continents, cultures, religions -worlds - apart for some years, missing each other every second of the way, building up world-class phone bills (this was an era before Skype, even before a functioning internet connection in faraway countries). He would sit in a place called the Atrium Café, writing 30-page letters to me, asking  the pianist to play the Love Story again and again. Finally, when we were together he took me to the Atrium Café to meet the pianist. It became Our Place. And every time we emerged from the (red) carpeted, antique, wood-paneled staircase, the pianist played the Love Story for us.

Today...

Today, for the first time ever, a lady came to me in a cafe, asking if I was THE LadyBohemia... Wow!

What a beautiful surprise:) The lovely Tuija is a student of art history, and life... She has a little summer/winter cottage in a BOAT in Pohjoisranta... The boathouse withholds all you need, even a sauna. I am truly inspired by her life, and her attitude towards it. Check out Tuija's outlook on life, and everything, at Muotisalonki. ~*♥*~

~* A Hazy Shade of Winter *~

My oldest son loves photography.

He once took photos of every page of a book displaying gross insects; scorpions, worms, frogs, snakes, crabs... Sometimes even Mama - as he calls me - will do. So we photographed my beloved long long long ivory white shammy golves... Original from the 1920's (Ah!). And my shimmery double lined pearl necklace from the same era...

We took the photos in our corridor as the house wasn't all that presentable...

This is what we came up with...

I like it.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

What say you?
